Who We Are

The International Center for Giant Panda Conservation Biology was formed in 2011 by The GLOBAL CAUSE Foundation and the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.

GLOBAL CAUSE is a U.S. nonprofit with 501(c)(3) status.  Based in Fairfax, Virginia, we support a collaborative effort by scientists and other experts from China, the United States and other nations to respond to the problems caused by global warming and other environmental threats.  We seek practical solutions that will help developing nations respond to these threats while still continuing to improve their economies.

The Chengdu Research Base is a world renowned leader in wildlife research, captive breeding, conservation, education and educational tourism in China.  Based in Sichuan Province, it has made remarkable advances in our understanding of the giant panda and our ability to breed and raise it in captivity.  It has also been a pioneer in education and outreach to young people and a strong supporter of efforts to promote conservation biology.
